Is Belly fat really that bad?

For over six decades, there has been a direct correlation between body fat storage and certain chronic diseases, such as coronary heart disease and diabetes. But according to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, there is now more evidence that storing more fat around the belly specifically (visceral fat), can lead to higher risks of chronic health problems. The study was conducted with 400,000 participants.
