New treatment to destroy cancer cells
On Monday, Scientists at the University of Glasgow announced a new and process that may be used to remove tumors, reduce side effects, and boost the immune system. The process is called Caspase Independent Cell Death (CICD). It uses a process called apoptosis to kill cancer cells which has fewer side effects than all other available treatments for us today, such as chemotherapy. Research leader Dr. Stephen Tait said: “This mechanism has the potential to dramatically improve the effectiveness of anti-cancer therapy and reduce unwanted toxicity.”
