Bees addicted to pesticides

Bees are an important part of the pollinating process

The Proceedings of the Royal Society B - a British scientific journal, published just recently an article “Foraging bumblebees acquire a preference for neonicotinoid-treated food with prolonged exposure,’ where they illustrate how bees are becoming addicted to neonicotinoid - a key ingredient in most pesticides. Much like humans can become addicted to nicotine, bees seemed to seek out this chemical, taking it with them to the hive and contaminating other bees as a result. Scientists worry this may affect the bee population. Bees are important for our environment because they help in the pollination, fertilization and production of seeds in the plantae kingdom.
