Nashville police officer charged with criminal homicide
On July 26, a white police officer in Nashville, TN was seen shooting an unarmed, black man running.
A video was released where you can see Daniel Hambrick being shot and killed by officer Andrew Delke. According to the report, officer Delke tried to stop a white Chevrolet Impala earlier that day, but was not able to do so.
Later that day he pulled into a parking lot where there was another white vehicle, which the officer confused for the Impala. When the officer arrived, Hambrick began to run. Without concrete knowledge if the man running was the same one who he was after, he began to chase him. After he was unable to stop him, he fired 4 rounds, hitting and killing Hambrick before he could get any treatment.
Thursday morning, a judge signed the criminal homicide affidavit. Since officer Delke turned himself in, he was released on a $25,000 bail.
