Verizon to launch 5G wireless broadband service

We all have heard about LTE and/or 4G networks being part of our mobile devices. However, as more and more people acquire mobile phones and use the internet on them every day, the demand for a faster and reliable network also increases. Verizon announced it will be launching 5G wireless broadband, which stands for “fifth-generation.”

5G’s data packet transfer protocol is far more efficient and advanced than the current 4G. As a result, wireless connectivity speeds will increase anywhere between 10 to 100 times ‘faster’ than existing LTE (4G) networks. Verizon is the first in the world to launch 5G fixed wireless at home commercially, starting in Houston, Texas.
