Megyn Kelly to leave her own Today show

47-year-old, Megyn Kelly is calling it quits from her Today show at NBC at the end of this season in December. According to sources, the people at the show “are not happy with Megyn right now.” Megyn gave rise to controversy after she said that it was “ok” to wear make up to represent a different race “as long as you were dressing up as like a character.” Though Megyn denies her being a “racist,” many have already come to a conclusion that, because of her comments, she has shown otherwise.

Kelly, however, says she wants to be more involved in politics ([scoffs] since she seems to be good at diplomacy) and feels her 9 a.m. show limits her furthering her interests.

Megyn Kelly has apologized profusely for her comments. In one specific email she acknowledged (about white people painting their faces to represent a black person) “such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry. The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep. […] Listening carefully to other points of view, including from friends and colleagues, is leading me to rethink my own views.” Megyn Kelly Today premiered in September 2017.
