Will Intel change after revealing gender and race pay gap?

Intel has released the report it sent to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. This move aims at addressing unequal pay in the tech industry.

Top earners were White and Asian men, while women and people of color made considerably less.

According to Bloomberg, with 52 top executives at Intel earning some 208,000, the EEOC confirms that 29 are white men, 11 are Asian men, 8 are white women. There is 1 Asian woman, 1 Hispanic woman, and one black woman and 1 black man.

The Intel U.S. data covering 2017 and 2018 is equally revealing.

Some wonder if this transparency means there will be a change on the horizon at Intel or if their public release of the EECO report is merely a publicity stunt to generate good press.
