Dallas (LEGEND) - In addition to changing their story on the circumstances surrounding the murder of a teenager attending a house party this past weekend, the police of the Dallas suburb have changed their story on the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a teenager outside a house party over the weekend. The Balch Springs Police Department also terminated officer Roy Oliver.

Jordan Edwards was a freshman at Mesquite High School and was only 15 years old when he was murdered by a police officer. He had recently attended a house party over the weekend and while he and a group of friends were driving off, an officer of the Spring Police Department opened fire, shooting Jordan in the head.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled his death a homicide.

Roy Oliver turned himself in on Friday and was charged with muder and posted the 300,000 bail that same day.

African-Americans have long been the target of police brutality and murder by law enforcement agents since the abolition of slavery in 1865.

Protest and changes in laws have still been unable to protect and ensure all of the basic human rights of African-Americans living in the United States.
