On Wednesday, August 29, the CDC made a public announcement that there were at least 17 reported cases involving Salmonella in four different states and one person has died as a result. These were traced back to Empire Kosher-brand chicken. The CDC advices to exercise caution:
-Wash hands before and after preparing raw chicken.
-Don’t spread germs from raw chicken around food preparation areas.
-Cook raw chicken thoroughly to an internal temperature of at least 165°F) to kill harmful germs.
