Alanzo Yanes was a student attending New York's Beacon High School as a sophomore when he attempted to execute the Rainbow demonstration in chemistry class that involved highly combustible materials.
The experiment resulted in an explosion that left him permanently disfigured.
This week a New York jury awarded Yanes over $60 million in civil damages.
