Ph.D. student killed within hours after moving to Chicago

A 25-year-old Ph. D. student was killed over the weekend in Chicago by a stray bullet a few hours after arriving, according to reports.

Shane Colombo was out running errands at night when he was shot in the abdomen by a stray bullet, dying from his injuries at Saint Francis Hospital.

Colombo had a full scholarship to Northwestern University and was a cancer survivor.

Police have made no arrest and are trying to identify suspects.
